Mediterranean Circuit

This route is a perfect combination of urban energy and coastal calm, offering a unique way to discover Barcelona. You will begin on the seafront promenade of the Port Olímpic, a lively area created to mark the 1992 Olympic Games. From the start, you will find numerous drinking fountains.
You will pass in front of the Peix (Fish), a brilliant sculpture by Frank Gehry next to the Hotel Arts and Torre Mapfre. These structures are an essential part of the Barcelona skyline, which transformed the city after the 1992 Olympics.

The route continues westward along the seafront, taking in several iconic spots along the coastline. You'll discover the beaches of Somorrostro and Barceloneta, in the Barceloneta neighbourhood, with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from, from traditional to avant-garde. Next come the beaches of Sant Miquel and Sant Sebastià, one of the oldest and most iconic in the city.
Along the way you'll see one of Barcelona's major architectural landmarks, Hotel W, like a gigantic sail against the horizon. Very close by, Plaça Rosa dels Vents and Passeig del Trencaones offer spectacular views over the Mediterranean, making this the ideal place to take a rest and enjoy the setting.

Heading back to the Port Olímpic area, you can take another look at everything you discovered on your way to Hotel W. The route continues along Avinguda del Litoral, home to the Centre Meteorològic de la Vila Olímpica, an outstanding building by the architect Álvaro Siza, winner of a Pritzker prize.
You then come to the beaches of Nova Icària and Bogatell, ideal for all lovers of sports and outdoor activities. The route ends on the beach of Mar Bella, where you can turn around and head back to the final stop: the Port Olímpic.
