Art Nouveau circuit

Barcelona is like a living architecture textbook, where every façade tells the story of Art Nouveau. The route begins in the Eixample Dret district, in front of Casa Calvet, a building designed by the architect Antoni Gaudí. It gradually leads to the broad boulevard of Passeig de Gràcia, where you will find three drinking fountains. During the route you will pass by Casa Lleó Morera and the Museu Tàpies building, two exceptional examples of the work of Domènech i Montaner, inviting you to admire the floral relief sculptures and sinuous lines so characteristic of this architectural style.
The unmistakable façades of Casa Batlló and La Pedrera will captivate you. The magical energy of their organic, undulating forms creates a fascinating artistic spectacle. The light reflecting on the stone and stained glass of these buildings creates a sensation of constant movement, as if they were breathing in the rhythm of the city.
The route continues to Palau Baró de Quadras, Casa Fuster, and Casa de les Punxes, three masterworks by Puig i Cadafalch epitomising the elegance and sophistication of Art Nouveau. Each detail of their façades, with intricate sculptures and geometric shapes, reflects his ability to blend tradition and innovation. The interiors, which conserve the spirit of the past, are a living testimony to a combination of art, architecture and functionality which offers a sensory experience that transcends time.

To continue your exploration, you can visit the Conservatori Municipal de Música, an architectural jewel which is not just a music school but a cultural space of great beauty. This intimate multi-use space is the setting for cultural events of every kind, from concerts to exhibitions, creating a perfect symbiosis of music and design.
You will also go by the Basílica de la Sagrada Família, which dominates the heart of Barcelona with its unique silhouette. Still under construction, this basilica is a glorious homage to nature and religious faith. It is rich in details which are worth pausing to admire.
But the journey does not end here. The last stop is the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau. Conceived as a garden city, this heritage building complex concludes the route in an explosion of shapes and colours.
