Casa Rocamora

The Casa Rocamora is an imposing palazzo located in the uptown district of El Putxet. The former home of the avid collector Manuel Rocamora Vidal, it is now open to the public. Rocamora specialised in early clothing (many items from his collection are on display at the design museum, the Museu del Disseny de Barcelona), but he also amassed an important collection of Alcora pottery, and 19th- and 20th-century paintings, drawings and sculptures. The drawing room of this spectacular Spanish-Elizabethan palazzo showcases an important painting by Ramon Casas, which is more than 4 metres high, as well as works by artists including Manolo Hugué and Agapit Vallmitjana.

In addition to works of art, the Casa Rocamora is full of curious objects including advertising memorabilia, a mobile by Picasso from the famous tavern Els Quatre Gats, fans, opera glasses from the Liceu, automata and dolls, packs of cards, books specialising in aeronautics… During your visit you will explore the rooms where one of the wealthiest Catalan upper-middle-class families lived and have the opportunity to view unique exhibits that will take you on a journey back in time.
