Situated in the county of La Cerdenya, La Molina was Spain's first ski resort and pioneered winter sports in the country. It opened in 1925 and offers a skiable area of 67 km. Recent refurbishments have connected it to the neighbouring resort of Masella providing access to 135 km of ski slopes. La Molina has adapted its infrastructures and services to make the resort more accessible for people with reduced mobility and, as a result, it has become the world leader in winter sports for people and athletes with disabilities.
