Cathedral chapterhouse and treasury

Barcelona Cathedral's former chapterhouse is now an interesting gallery space. This Gothic chamber, where the cathedral chapter still meets, displays the most valuable works of art and liturgical objects. Some of them are still used today, such as the monstrance which is brought out during the festival of Corpus Christi.

Other highlights include The Pietà by Bartolomé Bermejo, a work in oil on wood, and the stunning painting of the Glorification of Saint Oleguer and Saint Eulàlia by the Barcelona artist Pau Priu, which covers the ceiling of the exhibition space. We must also mention the Gothic altarpiece by one of the finest painters of the time, Jaume Huguet, and the sculpture of the co-patron saint of Barcelona, Saint Eulàlia, made by Antoni Claperós in the 15th century.
