Cèsar Malet. Self-portrait. Irony, aesthetics and passion revisits the work of one of the most distinctive photographers on the Catalan scene of the 20th century. Associated with the Gauche Divine and active in both professional photography and artistic research, Malet developed a precocious, modern and deeply personal gaze. The exhibition features portraits, reportage, fashion photography, advertising and experimental works from the collection deposited at the Arxiu Fotogràfic de Barcelona, presented as the artist himself selected and manipulated them. With a critical and playful body of work that combines irony, aesthetics and passion, Malet understood each image as an act of authorship and a conceptual self-portrait, exploring photographic language beyond literal representation.
