Jaume Plensa. Graphic work.Exhibitions and activities
05/10/2019 - 11/03/2019
The artist Jaume Plensa (Barcelona 1955) is mainly considered as a sculptor, but his work has gone through a variety of disciplines. As his artistic intention is to develop relationships and include human beings in them rather than construct objects, Plensa's work reflects on the human condition: from its physical and spiritual essence to the consciousness of self and of the past, covering moral codes and dogmas and the relationship with nature. The Museum of Montserrat is exhibiting a selection of prints, lithographs and etchings by this artist within its Pere Pruna Art space, along with his sculptural installation “Anna” in the basilica's atrium. “Anna” represents a girl with her eyes closed and is made out of stainless steel mesh. Last but not least, don't forget to visit the Museum's permanent exhibition, which includes artists such as Caravaggio, Ramon Casas, Santiago Rusiñol, Picasso, Llimona and Gargallo.
