The office building in Plaça Europa designed by 2017 Pritzker Prize winners, RCR Arquitectes, is an outstanding example of contemporary aesthetics, functionality and sustainability.
The Catalan architecture practice designed a four-storey, 10-metre-high block that contrasts with the height of the surrounding buildings.
The architects used a combination of materials, such as glass, steel and concrete, which are characteristic of their projects and contribute to creating an ultramodern appearance. The building consists of a repeated sequence of metal ribs that form a stepped façade. The panes of glass are set between the ribs creating an interplay of light and shadow that changes throughout the day, giving the building a visually captivating presence and favouring energy efficiency.
The interior of the building has been designed with function and the comfort of the workforce in mind.
