The Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and National Orchestra of Catalonia presents a concert of great expressive intensity featuring works by Béla Bartók and Johannes Brahms. The programme opens with Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra (1943), a work rich in energy and contrasts that highlights collective virtuosity and constant dialogue between sections. This is followed by Brahms's Violin Concerto in D major, one of the great masterpieces of Romanticism, in which the solo voice engages with a dense and refined orchestration. Violinist Augustin Hadelich takes the lead role, under the direction of Ludovic Morlot, in a performance that combines rigour, dramatic tension and emotional depth.
