Charlotte Posenenske: Work in Progress
Exhibitions and activities
10/18/2019 - 03/08/2020
The work of the German artist Charlotte Posenenske (1930-1985) was brief but intense. She developed a form of mass produced minimalism in response to the social and economic concerns of the time, eschewing the art market and rejecting conventional formal and cultural hierarchies. The MACBA is now displaying the “Work in progress” exhibition, bringing together works by Posenenske from 1956 to 1968, from her first drawings and paintings to her aluminum wall-reliefs and her last and best-known modular sculptures. An exhibition that was previously in Beacon, New York and which will continue touring across Europe.
