Fundació Joan Miró presents the exhibition Painting the sky. 50 Years of Stories from Fundació Miró (provisional title), to mark the institution's 50th anniversary. The exhibition, curated by Blanca Arias, Martina Millà and Ramon Balcells, offers a multifaceted and open-to-interpretation account of how the Center for Contemporary Art Studies (CEAC) was created and how it has evolved.

The exhibition explores the circumstances that fueled modernity in Catalonia, highlighting the figure of Joan Prats, who was key in the creation of the foundation, and reflecting on the impact of the Civil War and Franco's regime on contemporary art and culture. The recovered ideals of the modern movement of the 1920s and 1930s are also explored.

Through a series of key historical moments, such as Joan Miró's 75th birthday, the exhibitions dedicated to the artist in Barcelona and the construction of the building designed by Sert, the exhibition traces the transformation of the foundation in the 1980s, with the expansion of the building and the changes brought about by Olympic Barcelona. The journey culminates with a tribute to the artists who have formed part of the foundation's recent history.
