Parsifal-WagnerMusic

Wagner's symbology reaches its peak in Parsifal, a sacred opera-festival play in three acts. Wagner composed the music and the libretto and this was his last work. The idea of redemption that pervades all his work is very clear in the story of the hero Parsifal. Following a revelation, Parsifal shows the moral and physical decadence that only love and forgiveness can solve. The work premiered in 1882 in Germany and in 1913 in the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. Now the work returns to the city with a first-rate cast and under the direction of Joan Pons.
