Since 2008, the Fair - a Modernista market in Canet de Mar has turned the historic center of this municipality into a recreation of early 20th century Catalonia. By means of decoration, creating the atmosphere and historic figures, the streets are transformed into a modernist enclave. The fair includes all kinds of activities ranging from demonstrations of arts and crafts to theatrical performances, passing through musical performances, exhibitions, guided tours of the modernist architectural heritage, shows, workshops and traditional displays such as the sardanas dance, the “giants” and parades. A unique opportunity to experience the modernist spirit in the town where the modernist architect Domènech i Montaner had his family home and who will be the main theme of the fair as 2023 is the Year of Domènech i Montaner.
