Reopening of Gaudí’s Torre Bellesguard
06/09/2020 - 2020
The modernista castle Gaudí built at the foot of Tibidabo, between 1900 and 1909, was one of the first landmarks to reopen to the public on 9th June. All the established safety measures are in place, including temperature checks, sanitiser gel dispensers, the mandatory wearing of masks and restricted visitor numbers.
Bearing in mind that audioguides are not permitted, and the new safety measures, we have devised a new type of visit so you can enjoy the landmark at your leisure, in complete safety. The building is open at the usual times, Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 3pm. We recommend you book in advance online.
Discover this unique Barcelona landmark, its history, its gardens and enjoy magnificent city views. It was here that the medieval monarch, Martí the Humane, the last king of the House of Barcelona, established his residence at the foot of Tibidabo in 1409. Five hundred years later, Antoni Gaudí took inspiration from the castle to design the Torre Bellesguard, with its Gothic and modernista elements.
