This exhibition provides an extensive review of the career of the North American photographer (1898-1991). Her work, which was among the most captivating examples of photography in the first half of the 20th century, bridged the gap between the avant-garde movement of the Old Continent and the growing artistic scene on the east coast of the USA between 1920 and 1930.

Abbott's work reflects her great ability to identify and portray changes in the world around her. Her photographs constitute an exceptional portrait of the modernity of the 20th century, which is what this show revolves around.

The exhibition, structured into three sections, reflects how her progressed using almost two hundred photographs taken during these times. Also displayed are eleven photographs of Eugène Atget developed by Abbott herself at the end of the 1950s.
