The Shopping Night BarcelonaMain Events 2018, Others

The ninth edition of Barcelona Shopping Night returns bigger than ever on the night of 22 November to coincide with the turning on of the Christmas lights. This year's events revolves around four main themes: shopping, music, gastronomy and culture.

Aimed at promoting the festive spirit among the general public, boosting sales and turning the event into the launch of the Christmas campaign, the stores along Passeig de Gràcia and its adjacent streets will be bringing forward their special Black Friday offers, decorating their storefronts and offering a range of activities inside.

The major new feature for this year is the addition of music, with seven stages being set up at the intersections along Passeig de Gràcia with Rosselló, Provença, Mallorca, València, Aragó, Consell de Cent, Diputació and Gran Via. As they stroll along, the public will find themselves taking a chronological tour through the history of music from the 1920s to the present day: film soundtracks, the Cotton Club, the fifties, Latin rhythms, party music, pop rock and dance music with live performances, DJs and a giant graffiti wall. Each zone will put on cultural and leisure activities relating to the appropriate era.

Alongside the music, gastronomy –one of the city's cultural benchmarks– will play a leading role. Hotels and restaurants will be offering a tasting plate route inspired by the very best of Christmas fare at very reasonable prices. For €7 (tasting plate including an Estrella Damm beer) you can enjoy traditionally-based creations from renowned chefs such as the cannelloni by Nandu Jubany (Majestic Hotel and Spa Barcelona), among many others. The offer continues for 4 days and lasts until Sunday 25th (special Christmas opening).
