    New 20202021 season at the Gran Teatre del Liceu

    The Gran Teatre del Liceu is one of Barcelona's iconic venues and among the world's most spectacular opera houses. It begins the new season with an ambitious series of performances that are fully compliant with the current health and safety measures.

    The season commences with Verdi's Il Trovatore brought to you by the conductor Gustavo Dudamel and will also feature major works such as Don Giovanni, Otello, La Traviata and La Bohème.

    The theatre will also be hosting musicals, including the Barcelona premiere of My Fair Lady, and dance performances featuring three ballet troupes, two of them from outside Spain: the Eifman Ballet with a contemporary version of Pushkin's classic Onegin, and the Czech National Ballet performing Swan Lake. As for national artists, it stands out Blanca Li's Company, which is making its debut at the Liceu with Solstice.

    There will also be concert performances of works by Mozart, Haydn, Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky, as well as Manuel de Falla and Catalan composers, Robert Gerhard and Joan Guinjoan.

    And, finally, families will be able to enjoy the season for kids, the Petit Liceu, which will feature eight shows, including The Musicians of Bremen, The Little Magic Flute, Allegro Vivace by Joan Font from the Comediants troupe, and Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol.
