  • Il Trittico Gran Teatre del Liceu

Il Trittico Gran Teatre del Liceu

This work by Puccini is one of his last compositions and anticipates the modernity of Strauss and Debussy. It is a one-act opera that combines three independent works (Il Tabarro, Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi), and is entitled Il Trittico [The Triptych]. With this trilogy, Puccini tried to reflect fragments of reality, giving importance to historical events to convey every nuance of human emotion. We now have the opportunity to enjoy it at the Barcelona's Gran Teatre del Liceu [Great Theatre of the Lyceum] with this production by Lotte de Beer from the Bayerische Staatsoper [Bavarian State Opera] in Munich, which connects the three scores via the notion of death.
