Family Activities at Poble Espanyol

Flamenco at el Tablao de Carmen
Ideal for an evening out with your family, partner or friends, the Tablao de Carmen is performing a pure, authentic flamenco show every evening, with a line-up of eight artists: four "bailaor" flamenco dancers", two guitarists and two "cantaor" flamenco singers.
An iconic place of Barcelona, located in the Andalucian quarter of the Poble Espanyol in Montjuïc. Since it was opened in 1988, it is considered the mecca of Flamenco in Barcelona. It was created in tribute to the legendary "bailaora", Carmen Amaya, who was a close friend of the family who owned it.

The festival will take place all over the metropolitan area of Barcelona, covering the municipalities of Barcelona, Badalona, Santa Coloma, L'Hospitalet, Cornellà, Espluges and others. The theatre will also be hosting dance performances featuring A Midsummer Night's Dream performed by the Ballet Dortmund and The Swan Lake performed by Ballet del Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.
There will also be concert performances of works by Mendelssohn, Schubert and Monteverdi. Jesús Carmona was described by The New York Times as a global flamenco phenomenon. This multi award-winning virtuoso dancer presents his latest show Baile de Bestias in Barcelona. Awarded with 2 Max 2022 awards, Baile de Bestias combines the strength and vigor of flamenco with contemporary touches that excite and delight the spectators. In his performance, Jesús Carmona is accompanied by the composer Manu Masaedo who plays more than 20 instruments during the show.
