Museum Night: art in the moonlight 01/04/2015
The Barcelona moon bears witness to thousands of magical nights. Although, if you asked it about La Nit dels Museus (Museum Night), it would say that it casts its own peculiar spell, and has a special magnetism that is hard to explain, making it into a night that nobody, whatever their age, should miss.
The first Museum Night was held in Berlin and entitled the "Long Night of Museums". It was such a resounding success and attracted so many local people that cities like Paris, Madrid and London joined in this new cultural event which is currently held in more than 40 countries.
A long, very long night because it always ties in with (DIBA) which is always held on one Sunday in May. We recommend you check out the website to see the programme of events and ensure you don't miss out on one of the world's greatest cultural celebrations.
But best of all is the fact that more than 70 museums and galleries in Barcelona and its surrounding area join in the initiative and open until the early hours. Each one has a different programme of events, cultural activities and opening times. Admission is free to all of them. If your visit to the Catalan capital falls on these dates, you're more than welcome to let yourself be spellbound by art in the moonlight.
