Sónar is a festival of advanced music and multimedia art. But it's also much more than that: Sónar has become an international benchmark by developing what is essentially music to become an explosion of multimedia language, art and electronica, attracting fans eager for innovation from all over the world in the process.
Over three dates, and divided into Sónar by Day (Fira Montjuïc de Barcelona) and Sónar by Night (Gran Via de L'Hospitalet), 140 shows take place in various venues of the city, including concerts, DJ sessions, screenings, debates, conferences and an abundance of multimedia projects.
This year sees the 26th edition Sónar 2019 will be held exceptionally in summer, on days 18, 19 and 20 July, which features a deluxe bill with artists such as the digital genius Daito Manabe, the return of the iconic Japanese producer DJ Krush, the latest live show of the Parisian duo Acid Arab and contemporary Spanish artists including Territoire, Berlinist, Diego Navarro, the legendary Macromassa, as well as the more radical stage acts appearing at SonarXS, such as Shiva Feshareki, Afrodeutsche and Bill Kouligas, among others. Yet one of the most hotly anticipated moments of the festival is the performance of Bad Bunny at SonarClub. Meanwhile, Sónar is hosting the Spanish debut of Lil Uzi Vert, one of America's leading trap and rap artists.
The Sónar 2020 Festival will return to its usual dates in the month of June.
