Nature's heartbeat. 19th century drawings from the Museu Nacional collectionExhibitions
05/20/2022 - 09/11/2022

The fascination that 19th-century artists had for nature is the main focus of this exhibition. Through 80 works, mostly drawings, we are able to appreciate the interest there was for this artistic element and discover the sensibility that took root in Europe, finally crystallizing in Romanticism. With works by Baldomer Galofre, Mariano Fortuny, Ramon Martí Alsina, Lluís Rigalt, Antoni Fabrés and Jaume Morera among others, the exhibition reveals the importance of nature in Catalan art, especially throughout the 19th century.
