The universe of the Argentinian, Oscar Masotta (1939-1979) covers a range of disciplines. His multifaceted career as an intellectual and artist is the central theme of this exhibition at the MACBA, curated by Ana Longoni. The exhibition reveals his theoretical interest in literature and political militancy, artistic vanguard and cartoons, psychoanalysis, semiotics and structuralism, among many others. It is also impacted by the footprints and influences he left in Barcelona, where he lived from his exile in 1975 to his premature death in 1979. An extensive run through his work to gain a better understanding of this outstanding driving force of Argentina vanguard.
