The Walt Disney movie, Fantasia, was a gamble for classical music, one of the passions of the renowned director. In spite of its lack of success, this 1940 movie is a gem of animation, where characters give life to music by Bach, Mussorgsky, Stravinsky, Beethoven and to Paul Dukas in the most famous episode: Mickey Mouse fighting an army of brooms, to the sound of The Sorcerer's Apprentice. We now have the chance to relive the unison of movies and music with the projection of the movie at the Auditori, accompanied by the live performance of the OBC.
