Nativity in the plaça Sant JaumeFamily activities, Christmas Time
11/24/2017 - 01/07/2018

25 perspex figures designed by the architect Jordi Darder, will welcome Christmas at Plaça Sant Jaume. During the day, the figures will stand out against the facades of the square, with color and reflections. At night, they will be highlighted with light coming from inside. Different directions, which when combined with the height of the supports, will give different ways of viewing it, both from inside and from the opposite sides of the square. A manger that is displayed with different sides.

The manger, a wood The movement of the figures follows the wind. A set of almost weightless, resistant, support structures A wood of bulrushes, a landscape.
The manger, a place. Positioning a manger to show a place on the central place of the city. An urban place is crossed. It is a stopping place, traffic and a point of reference. A place in the city where there is participation, which needs people.
The manger, a game. To hide, to count, to imagine characters. Becoming and delving into the characters of the manger: following the Three Kings, listening to the shepherds, witnessing the start of a universal story, in a stable.
The manger, an action. The manger moves with the wind, it makes reflections with the sun and lights up in the dark. Each moment is a spectacle: it deserves admiration, from where it stands or from the furthest corners of the square.
