Tristan und IsoldeClassical music and Opera
11/28/2017 - 12/15/2017

Wagner was inspired by the medieval poem, "Tristan and Isolde" to compose one of the most dramatic and romantic operas in the history of music. Exasperating passions, overwhelming love and a desperate final merge with melodies, which when it opened in 1865, were a revulsion of the most classic outlines of composition. Even today, this opera is considered to have developed classical music to modernity. The complete love story of "Tristan und Isolde" is pure sentimental intensity up to the climactic end: the extraordinary aria "Liebestod" (Love Death)
