While most of the people involved with organising live music in Barcelona head off on a well-deserved holiday this month, the yearly Mas i Mas festival keeps the city's concert scene going with a packed programme of events. Mas i Mas is one of Barcelona's most emblematic music companies, as the owner of the historic Jamboree jazz club, as well as techno club Moog and the flamenco venue Tarantos, all of which are located in the very heart of the city. These three all host shows during the August festival along with equally iconic venues as the Palau de la Música Catalana, El Born Centre de Cultura i Memòria and the Teatre Grec, as a new event of the 15th edition.
This year's edition will include artists such as Chano Domínguez & Mariola Membrives (flamenco and jazz), Eva Yerbabuena (flamenco) and Andrea Motis (jazz) at the Teatre Grec; Alfonso Vilallonga & Marco Mezquida (song music) and Quinteto Real (tango) at the Born Center; Uri Caine (jazz), Ernie Watts Quartet (jazz) and 'King' Solomon Hicks (jazz) at the Jamboree; Imany (soul/funk), Mario Biondi (soul/funk) and Incognito (jazz) at the Palau de la Música.

A total of 200 performances of different styles including jazz, classical music, blues, soul, song music, flamenco, electronic music, theater and dance, all to thrill us and discover new, top-class national and international artists.

"There's no let-up for music in Barcelona, and one of the city's leading music promoters stages concerts at its iconic venues, including the Palau de la Música, Jamboree and Moog, with performances by local and international artists. I discovered Silvia Pérez Cruz here. What more can I say?"
