The Fundació Antoni Tàpies is a foundation set up in 1984 with the aim of fostering the study and knowledge of modern and contemporary art. The Foundation building opened in 1990 in the former Montaner i Simó publishing house in Barcelona.
It currently combines temporary exhibitions, symposiums, lectures and film seasons with the production of a number of publications which complement the activities and exhibitions devoted to Antoni Tàpies. The Foundation contains one of the most comprehensive collections of Tàpies art work, most of them the result of donations from Antoni and Teresa Tàpies, which give an overview of every period of his artistic career.
